Mentoring Goals: Usually 3-5 goals. When setting goals, the mentor should work together with the mentee to formulate them in such a way that they are realistic and bring maximum value to the mentee. Goals should be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time Bound (SMART). For example, "improve communication skills in leading team meetings within three months" is a specific and measurable goal.

Duration of mentoring: Usually 3-5 months. This time frame provides enough time to achieve set goals and allows for a deeper working relationship between mentor and mentee to develop.
Frequency of meetings including estimated number of meetings: Usually 2-4 weeks. It is recommended to meet approximately once every 2 to 4 weeks. The frequency should depend on the goals of the mentoring and the time availability of both parties. Each meeting should last 60 minutes, which is enough time to discuss key topics, provide feedback and set tasks for the next meeting.
Tip: Regularity and flexibility
Regularity: Maintaining a regular rhythm of meeting is key to the continuity and success of mentoring. Regular meetings also help keep the mentee motivated and focused.
Flexibility: While it is important to have structure, some flexibility should be maintained to adjust the frequency and length of meetings according to current needs and progress.
